Sango could see that Kagome was frustrated. All of her arrows missed their targets that day. To top it off, Kikyou had shown up at the crucial moment and hit the youkai with one shot.

"I suck, I suck," Kagome was mumbling.

"What?"

"I can't hit!" she clarified. "And Inuyasha was jumping so fast today, I could barely string the arrows, much less shoot right. Ugh. I wasn't meant to be an archer. Hmm," she said, talking to herself. "Maybe I could use a gun?" she wondered aloud. "It'd be faster and easier. A miko with a gun.... Sacred bullets?"
